I have a bookcase in the living room. It's packed with books I read and now sit quietly behind family photos. It's styled and tidy.

Then, I have a full wall library of books in a bedroom used as an office that, at this stage of my life, represent my history. Eras of kinds of books I was into in a given moment. The lower shelf - a collection of craft books when I was a creative director for a craft book publisher. Cook books, fiction novels, poetry, how to, children's books, one section of instruction books - Writer's On Writing.

It's actually a silent archeological summary of how I came to be. My oldest grandson, an avid book lover, is inline to inherit this library.

I am half blind now so I have to do Kindle books so I can enlarge the type on my screen. I can't help but be so grateful for this technology.

But I will always be a lover of physical books. Those handheld containers of information and imagination. Representatives of human creativity.

I thoroughly enjoyed Sharon Garlough Brown’s “Sensible Shoes” series. You will love the last book, but grab some tissue! 🥹
