Thanks for the list of books! Will definitely order the Nicholas Sparks book and a few others look good too! Honestly I haven't thought about summer reading yet.
I am a library fan as well, Linda! My reading rhythm is a different beat than usual. It's rhythmic sequence around my choice of destinations and my learning path of writing (or what I am writing). But I have these listed on my TBR. Thanks!
Lynn, yes! It's good for our reading rhythms to get shaken up a bit here and there. A different genre or a fresh space gives our perspectives a bit of a jumpstart. I like that.
I love requesting books from our library... but don't have the option to freeze it. In fact I just had to return that Nicholas Sparks' book unread because I ran out of time with all the others I had checked out too! I really enjoyed The Berry Pickers though and the rest of these do sound so good.
I would like to add a few more Linda to the summer reading list. I would highly, and I mean highly, suggest that Brookhaven by Glynn Young be on the summer reading list. I have read it twice and am planning on doing a review but time keeps getting away from me. That is why I read it the second time. :) I would also recommend his 5 volume series Dancing Priest. I would also recommend the other two novels by Patty Callahan I have read: "Becoming Mrs. Lewis" and "Once Upon a Wardrobe." Both beautiful, touching stories and well worth the reading time (and giving up other things that need done!) LOL
I wanted to re-read Becoming Mrs. Lewis ... and then found out my one of my grandgirls borrowed it. But that's ok, because now I much prefer to read large print. I guess she can keep the book after all.
Thanks for your recommendations. I always sit up and take notice what you're paging through.
I actually can't follow them. My thinking is slowed now. Barb has had to get used to a lot, including the effective end to a conversational life. I simply can't keep up. I just nod and grunt s lot, with some uh-huh's tossed in for style.
I was so happy to see that you included Streams in the Desert! That was my Papaw's and my Mom's favorite devotional book. I am so blessed to own both of their copies! Such rich, gold nuggets in that book! God bless you, friend.
Oh, to have the Bibles and devotional books that our ancestors cherished is such a gift, isn't it, Cheryl. And yes, when I saw Streams in the Desert, I couldn't link this classic up quick enough! I hope a whole lot of readers grab it.
I loved The North Woods and The Berry Pickers!
They are classics, aren't they, Wendy. Thanks for taking the time to say 'hi'!
I've got The Story She Left Behind on my list.
Thanks bunches for sharing your reads and recommendations with Sweet Tea & Friends this month dear friend. I appreciate you 🤗
Let me know what you think, Paula! It's a perfect early summer read ...
These recs are great! I added the Story She Left Behind to my list. The cover is beautiful! 😍
A beautiful cover for a magical book, Janelle.
3/5 already on my tbr! Have you read any other Patti Callahan?
Yes. I love them ALL!!!!!
Thanks for the book list, Linda! I've been reading a series by Susan May Warren. She's a favorite of mine. Happy soon-to-be summer!
June, I'm jotting down her name even as we speak. Thanks for sharing one of your favorites!

Still recovering from Mother's Day, aren't we.
xo
Thanks so much for the recommendations!
I can’t wait to get started!
Have fun finding the perfect read, Elena!
I have never read Dallas Willard, but have heard great things about his writing.
Classic. Deeply spiritual. Thought-provoking.
Oh boy I've got to check these out! Lol.
Visiting today from Joanne's xo
I hope you'll find something that fits you to a T, friend!

I always appreciate your book lists, Linda! I'll be saving this list for when we go on vacation :)
Cool! And I bet you can't wait to get away again, friend ...
Thanks, Linda! These all sound like winners. Blessings!
Thanks for starting your morning with me. Hope you're having a good one, friend!

Oh I'd be in trouble if there was no freeze button. Getting a whole slew at the same time is definitely not conducive to relaxing reading.
And yes, I think you'll love these books, Joanne.

could not find Brookhaven at my local library - odd.

I was concussed, yes, yet again,
fell one too many a time,
and now is not what I'd been, then,
and I only think in rhyme,
which makes it hard to read a book,
for I quickly tire
of prose-y sentences that look
like they're spinning in a gyre
of a mad alphabet soup
that's bubbling on the boil,
letters in an endless loop
that turn reading to toil
when once I would have said it might
have been my life's greatest delight.
Ah! Audio books!

But thank you so much for the thought!
I like those 'uh-huh's tossed in for style.' That'll work.
