Celebrating 1/2 a year at my new online home
in which I share a bit of reflection on the birth & purpose of Grace & Space ... and then head out the door
Six months ago I quietly made the move to Substack after spending 16 years blogging on Blogger.
Trust me, it was a huge decision not taken lightly. In my years of blogging I experienced a few terrifying tech missteps of my own making … like the day in 2015 when I almost lost not one but two websites in all of 5 minutes. And then 3 years ago, accidentally deleting all my subscribers and having to start from scratch in building a new email list.
So, yes, this move was a test of faith for sure. I literally held my breath and prayed hard over each simple step it took to move from there to here.
I can’t believe the joy, gratitude, and satisfaction that’s come in creating this new Grace & Space home. It’s the hugest relief to have all the tech logistics well taken care of. I can’t even begin to tell you. The journey’s been a learning curve but a doable one thanks to those of you who’ve shown me the ropes along the way … and to you dear long time friends who cared enough to come along for the ride and weathered the scattered logistical changes and glitches.
Thank you.
In the process, this little community has almost doubled in size. It’s no exaggeration to say that I’m more than a bit awestruck at what God is doing.
I don’t take this privilege lightly. I see it as an invitation to create content that’s worthy of your valuable time. To share from all I’ve learned (often through the messy and hard stuff) as a ministry leader. A pastoral counselor. A woman ‘of a certain age’ who’s a watchful, protective mama bear to those she loves. But most importantly, as a believer who loves and adores the Lord Jesus.
My goal continues to be a gentle, enthusiastic companion on your journey toward emotional healing, spiritual growth, and peaceful living. And to nurture a calm, Christ-centered haven, a safe online community where kindred spirits gather and are heard, validated, and cherished.
All that said, I’m unplugging for a bit.
Yes, it is kinda weird to celebrate a milestone and then say see ya’ later, but it’s in the purposeful pauses from online interaction that we get refueled and recalibrated. Without those fascinating distractions that claim so much of our time and energy, we’re able to more fully experience life in the company of those right in front of our noses and to appreciate God’s grand creation and life’s simple joys displayed in living color all around us.
So … this is as good a time as any to take a break from

creating
studying
cleaning

blogging

I’ll see you sometime in May, friends. ‘May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other’ (Genesis 31:49).
In His Love,
Linda 💙
I am so far behind in my blog reading, as you can see, and I just wanted to drop by and say that I hope you are enjoying your break! I know you will come back to us recharged, invigorated, and full of good things to share. Much love to you today, sweet friend.
Happy 6 month anniversary Linda. You sure are a gentle, enthusiastic companion on my journey.
I appreciate you sharing this with Sweet Tea & Friend April Link up.
