How do I leave a comment? (and other pressing questions)
Join the party, friends. The best is yet to come!
Hey all!
It’s been a crazy wonderful wild ride around here this past week. Thanks for all the good words about Grace & Space, my new online home. 72% of you long-time subscribers opened last weekend’s Porch #116 * The Transition Edition. Readers came from 36 states and 10 countries. And we had a good number of new friends drop by … liking what they read and/or subscribing.
I’m so grateful.
Unsure of what's happening around here? No worries. You're not the only one. As in real life, one person’s decisions often have a ripple effect on those around them. Some of you have let me know that this move has been a bit unsettling. Believe me, I do get it. Yes, there’s a learning curve for all of us new to Substack, whether we’re writers or readers. But it’s a gentle one and need not be overwhelming when we take one step forward at a time.
The most honest response came from Donna who wrote -
Nice blog...but I don't want to "lose" you in all this "new" stuff. I really like my Linda... I don't want you to just be "another article based blog." I'm probably not looking at this in the right light...I hate change...lol...but I'll follow!
My response?
Aw sweet girl, don't you worry 'bout a thing. As my husband says, 'it's the same order, just a different delivery system.'
Promise.
xo
So … here’s a few answers to your very good questions.
What is Substack?
Substack is an online platform that I’m now using to write, publish, and send my work out to email subscribers.
What is Grace & Space?
Grace & Space is the title of my new online home located on Substack. It replaces my former blog on LindaStoll.net.
What happens to LindaStoll.net?
It’ll remain up and running for the foreseeable future. The Wellness Resources page is packed with up-to-date info on crisis assistance, counseling resources, support groups, mental health websites, suggested workbooks, and ministry training.
All posts since 2015 are easy to access through the Post Index. Comments have been disabled.
What about PORCH?
PORCH is the weekend newsletter I write here at Grace & Space in addition to occasional essays and the monthly BOOKBAG. Everything I write is free and goes straight to your inbox when you subscribe.

That’s an awful lot of steps.
Only the first time you do it. After that, your name will show up in the comment section at the end of each post. You’ll be amazed how easy and convenient it is to chat together.
What’s with that heart-shaped button?
Click on it if you love what you’re reading. And if you want to give a thumbs up to what someone else has said, simply click the like button under their comment.
Are you still going to be visiting your blogging friends at their sites and link-ups?
Absolutely. Some of us have done life’s joys and griefs together for well over a decade. You are my people, my teachers, my mentors. You are my community. The move to Substack? As Tim so eloquently observed, 'it's like Amazon - the same order, just UPS instead of FedEx.'
Onward and upward,
Linda
What a great intro. It will be lovely!
Thanks for the little tutorial! I could not figure out how to get it to work last week!
