If you haven’t heard my Jersey girl voice in awhile, this is your lucky day. Listen in …
Dear friends here and there, old and newer, online and off ~
If your eyes glaze over when people whip out their phones and show you 89,000 family pictures, well, yes, I absolutely understand if you want to move on.
But I’ve gotta tell you, I’ve yet to find a more entertaining group to hang out with. We’ve got natural born comedians and an array of athletes, all kinds of creatives and bookworms, the ones who gravitate to the quiet corners and those who’re always up for a party. And because it’s been a year filled with milestones all the way around, we’ve spent more time together in the last twelve months than probably ever before.
I’ve loved (almost) every minute of it.
Cheering ourselves senseless at basketball games. The most delightful bridal shower. The outrageous joy. The endless miles apart. The difficult decisions. Gleeful graduation celebrations and impromptu photoshoots. Frantically building sand fortresses at dusk as the tide rolls on in. Doing life together at Camp for a week. The most beautiful wedding ever. The roadtrip south to see granddaughters settling into their new lives. The hard good-byes. Assorted injuries, some rather concerning. Squawking feathered grandchickens. New schools. The wonderful aroma of cooking marathons. Pa’s never-ending 70th birthday celebration. Heavy duty praying without ceasing. The sweet granddog finally winning over her reluctant grandfather. His woodshop buzzing with puzzles and birdhouses and reindeer galore. A short Annapolis boat ride on a frigid afternoon. And big news that’s not mine to share.
This is our life. All quiet and still with brief pockets of crazy all together wonderful. And then all quiet and still again. On repeat. If only we could shrink the miles. If only our memories would last forever.

a 48th anniversary trip for two and the bridal shower
These are our people, this is our life. There’s a whole lot to be thankful for. And yeah, like everyone else’s family, there’s the hard stuff, too. It’s all in God’s most capable hands and we’re just called to love lavishly and pray often. This gives us peace and hope because He’s always at work, isn’t He. I hope you’re experiencing the same confidence in His generous kindness and faithfulness as this year comes to a close.
I’m here week in, week out, year round. I’d love it if you’d subscribe and do life with me in 2025. It’d be just about the best Christmas gift ever.
As always, it’s all about the conversation that follows each post. Please join in … or take a peek.
And if you know someone who knew us back in the day … or might like to hang out around here now, I’d love if you’d share this with them.
Sending you His love as we finish off 2024,
Linda & Tim
