Nope, you won't fall behind, Paula. Each week I'll be sharing 3 quotes and we talk about them ... or anything else that people want to talk about in the comment section. Like any other blog post, people will come and go for weeks. To get the most out of the conversation, you might want to stop by within the first few days of each post, but as always, that's not required! And you might want to return to see where the conversation went and respond to what others are saying.
Whatever works! Come and go in whatever rhythm is most comfortable for you. There'll be plenty of people stopping by that don't have the book. No problem.
Ps: Tell me about your book club. I'd like reading and discussing with you guys. I think I'd be a more accountable reader if I I had friends to read and talk with. 🙂
I agree, we get a bit more accountable when we find other kindred spirits to talk with. And we find our worlds expanding. So just show up starting next Thursday and jump right in, Paula. And we talk books here right around the middle of each month. You know I'd love to have you involved in the conversations!
This book sounds amazing. Thank you so much for sharing about it. I know, firsthand, what a good listener you are, sweet friend. I cherish my memories of our phone conversation and will always remember how you allowed me to ramble, then added such wisdom when I was finished. To sit down and chat with you would be an immeasurable blessing.
Quite true. It's an AR pistol with a 4.5" barrel, inspired by the Bushmaster Arm Pistol, which was designed in the 60s as a survival tool for aircrew. Muzzle blast is horrendous, and, well, there you go. It is entirely legal, which didn't make it a smart project.
I love that you are starting up your book club again. Adam McHugh's book, The Listening Life, sounds like the perfect book to begin the year. As much as I would love to read the book, I do not have the mental capacity currently but hope to jump in on the conversation.
Mary, your honesty is refreshing. I'm happy whenever you come here ... just as you are. And yes, please to you hopping right into the conversation whenever. Always.
This book is already on my TBP list, but after reading your review, I'm moving it to the top! Sounds like a worthy read indeed. Alas, other commitments will keep me from joining your book club!
You've made me go down memory lane, Linda! This book is in my Kindle app. I read it 2018. But since I had to look it up to see if I had read it before means it deserves a re-read! A wonderful book to choose for the book club.
It will be great to revisit this important book, Linda. This world would be a much better place if we all would open our ears more than our mouths, wouldn't it? Love and blessings to you!
I do remember reading this with the book club years ago, Linda. I know exactly where to find it in my downstairs library. It does need some dusting off. Happy to join everyone on this journey. Blessings!
Sounds like something that can help us in this world of everyone talking and no one listening! I love the idea of listening to nature. When I make myself sit on my porch and be still, I always benefit from the time.
I'll be putting a quote from each chapter on the table and everyone is invited in on the action. I look forward to you joining in, Laura, book or no book.
I won't be able to order the book from Amazon until next Friday the 3rd. I won't fall behind will I ?
Ps: Also, I've never been part of a book club before. This is exciting and to have you as a book club mentor is the best.

It'll be FUN!!!!!!
Thanks bunches Linda. It sure sounds like fun.

I need this book! Lol. I added it to my Amazon book wishlist.
Thanks bunches for sharing this book recommendation with Sweet Tea & Friends this month my dear friend.
My book arrives tomorrow. Looking forward to reading and connecting with others.
I am so glad you've joined us here, Karen!

Yes, I remember the surprise and joy of that very special conversation, Cheryl. It was just like picking up where we left off ...
Oh, this sounds like a must read! I will be adding it to my TBR, thanks for the recommendation!!
Oh good, I'm so glad!
The only thing I listen to,
the only thing I hears,
is the sound that's always true,
the ringing in my ears,
born of an experiment,
a short AR-15
built with full macho intent
on which I was so keen,
but my earmuffs were mislaid
when at first I shot the thing,
and the price that I have paid
is that my ears sure ring,
but all is good and all is cool,
as once again I play the fool.

Agreed. Doesn't sound like a smart project to me, either.
Not a smart project, but it's what I can still do, with the skills I have.
And the ringing in the ears...have you seen The Polar Express? The sound is exactly that of Santa's sleigh bells. It is comfort, and not burden.
I have a bit of ringing in my ears ... but I can't say it sounds like sleigh bells.
Mine is constant, and drowns out almost everything, but it's like a hug from God...'listen to ME.'

Thank you, LInda!
Always trying to keep things simple, ya know?!

No need to join, no commitment.
Just drop in whenever you have time and leave your thoughts on the quotes I put on the table.

Can't wait til we start!

Thumbs up for open ears and open hearts!

EVERYTHING in my house needs some dusting off, for sure. Maybe I'll get motivated by your plans.
I certainly need to work on my listening skills. Thank you Linda and stay warm and safe over these days of icy cold weather!
I hope you're not getting blasted too badly by the weather, friend. I see you cuddling up together inside on those long winter evenings ...
Sounds like something that can help us in this world of everyone talking and no one listening! I love the idea of listening to nature. When I make myself sit on my porch and be still, I always benefit from the time.
I hear ya, Debbie. EVERYONE is talking right now. And few are listening well.
This sounds wonderful! If only my “to-read” stack wasn’t so tall... I might eavesdrop on and glean from the sidelines, Linda!
