Joining you on your porch Linda. What great photos and I love the embroidery on the jeans. I take great joy in life's little simple things. Sometimes the little things are bigger than we know.
Thanks so much for sharing this with Sweet Tea & Friends this month sweet friend.
Love, love, LOVE the way you celebrate the little things, Linda. I read a quote recently that said something like, learn to appreciate the little things, for sooner or later you will realize they were the BIG things of your life!
Ahhh, Linda. I loved your photos and the explanations behind them. The flowers and cupcakes were beautiful! The quote by Paul David Tripp spoke to me. And Happy Anniversary!! We just celebrated 28 a couple of weeks ago. :)
How delightful that you prayed, "May you rediscover a precious childhood past time once again. May you create memories to hold close for always." Our granddaugthers (ages 7 & 11) spent the day with us on Saturday, and we played "Island Tag." Rags spread all over the basement floor become islands, and players have to jump from one to another. No stepping in the water (the blue carpet)! Instead of tagging the person, we throw a potholder at each other. Makes it a little more challenging. It's a silly game that leads to much laughter. So yes, I rediscovered a precious childhood past time and we created memories to hold close for always! Thank you, Linda!
Oh this is too fun, so sweet, Nancy. The silly times, the laughter ... those girls are going to remember playing with grandma for many years to come. Love this, friend. So happy for you. And them.
I've been hoping for a season 2 of the latest adaptation of the Jame's Herriot novels. They were so fun to read when I was a teen, and it was very fun to see the BBC series bring his words to life. We're definitely experiencing the varieties of spring weather (snow, rain, sunshine...) from my front porch this weekend! Lovely pictures!
I love seeing the snapshots of your day to day moments. Each photos is lovely. I met Joan Walsh Anglund at least 48 years ago in Atlanta. She was signing a new book that I purchased. My grandchildren are enjoying that book now. Paul David Tripp’s “New Morning Mercies” is a daily encourager. Happy Saturday, my friend!
Pam, your connection with Joan Walsh Anglund is fascinating! Her illustrations are priceless and it's always fun to find an old volume in a free bin somewhere.
And yes please to Paul David Tripp. I have learned so much from his writing. He always serves up a rich feast, doesn't he.
She was a lovely and gracious lady. Your comments have given me a jump start on an idea I have had for a while and have yet set into motion! Hopefully I will get a post finished for this week!
It always refreshes my soul to visit with you, sweet friend. I love watching Farmhouse on Boone, too, and was happy to see it featured here. I will have to check out the series you suggested. It looks wonderful. God bless you always.
There's something about Lisa at Farmhouse on Boone that keeps me coming back for more! Maybe it's those baskets of eggs, her efficient use of time, her creative decor, her thrifty spirit. Love it. Today's The Spring Farmhouse was so much fun to watch -
Thanks for sharing so much with us this week about your life and family. Isn't it such a blessing to be able to watch our grandkids grow up and to witness the unique gifts God has given to each one. I can sense through your words how proud you are of each one of them. God is so good!
Thanks again for another inspirational post to get us through the weekend. May yours be filled with God's blessings!
love the photos as usual. I liked to read about praise as that as been such a growing practice in mu prayers lately and it appears in yours too. Have a wonderful weekend, Linda
Yes, praise become our lifeline and gives us a right perspective on all of life - the good things as well as the events and challenges that we hoped wouldn't come our way. Thank You, Jesus.
My husband read that Tripp quote this morning in our devotional. I saved it and was thinking about sharing it on Monday. HA - brilliant minds! It is one to meditate on more than once, for sure. Love all your photos. Glimpses of what is so sweet about this life - sweet, as in those delicious looking cupcakes!! Thanks for the viewing suggestions as well. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!!
I love these snapshots of life’s simple pleasures! It’s the little things, right?and I thoroughly enjoyed All Creatures! Will have to check out these other two.

'Sometimes the little things are bigger than we know.'
So beautifully spoken, friend. So beautifully spoken.

Wow, that's profound. Truly.
There's so much joy in life's little moments.
Your granddaughter's photos are lovely, and those cupcakes look delicious! 😋
Hugs and blessings, Linda
Wouldn't you just love a cupcake right about now?!
Yes, please! 🧁
I thought your granddaughter was wearing friendship bracelets exchanged by Taylor Swift fans.
Thanks for the visit. I've been wanting a knitted-style mug for a while, so I was thrilled to snag one at the pottery show.
You've got a keen eye, girl! I didn't check out the bracelets but I do like that look (on her).
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning when I enjoy my cuppa ...
A beautiful collection of moments, Linda! Thank you for sharing!
It was fun ...

Congrats on 28 years! And raising boys! And being the beautiful woman you are. It's so good to see you out and about again. You've been missed ...
Enjoyed your photos. Lovely cupcakes!
mmm ... I could use one right about now! Eat dessert first is a good philosophy.
Another Dane is coming home,
two in less than thirty days.
Are we in the Twilight Zone,
or does this prove the ways
of God are very different
from those we might prefer?
Is this dog therefore Heaven-sent,
a call that we defer
the stable plans that we have set
(not really, 'cause we know our God!),
and accept the Holy Bet,
and know that God is awed
by our willingness to do
the things He really wants us to?

Ain't that the truth! Enjoy your front porch anyway, friend. Pics?!

Oh go ahead and share Tripp on Monday, Jennifer. I can't wait to hear your take on his words ...

Yes, it IS the little things. Makes me wonder how much we miss along the way because we've got our eyes fixated on the big stuff ...
