Porch #146 💘 12 wedding day snapshots
yes indeed, a picture surely paints a thousand eloquent words
My dearest friends,
There’s a wondrous real life love story behind each one of these photos of our beautiful granddaughter’s glorious wedding day. The whimsy and sacred. The nostalgic, the amusing. The pensive, the holy, the joyous. The unexpected, the crazy, and the yearning for those who watched the celebration unfold through heaven’s eyes.
But here we are a week later, and I can't even begin to find the words that’ll do it all justice, that would somehow capture the awesome joy of what we who absolutely adore her experienced last Saturday.
There’s one hundred and ten stories I could tell, I’m sure. But weirdly, the writer in me is completely stymied, tongue-tied, unable to capture the enormity of swirling emotions that have already come to define this epic event in the life of our family.
And maybe that’s exactly how it should be.
Praise You, Jesus. Bless you both, Lydia & Jake. You are deeply loved and God has big plans in the works for you. Grandma believes it with all her heart.

‘We love because he first loved us’
1 John 4:19
So … let’s talk weddings! This one, of course. But also the special two-become-one milestones in your family. Those cherished or quirky turn of events you’ll remember for the rest of your days. And the stories you’ve just been waiting to share.

How beautiful! They are so lovely
In Christ's sweet name, two hearts unite,
A bond of love, pure and bright.
A covenant sealed, a promise made,
Through trials and joys, their love will stay.
With vows exchanged, their souls entwined,
A love eternal, of every kind.
Supported by faith, a guiding light,
Their love will shine, day and night.
May God's grace forever be their guide,
As they walk together, side by side.
A love that's true, a love that's deep,
May their happiness forever keep.
