Porch #156 π Road trip edition
smile-worthy snapshots + impactful reads + candles to warm your living spaces in the months ahead
itβs day #4 of our 15 day road trip β¦ listen in! β¦ and forgive me for my weird early morning voice
Good weekend to you, dear friends ~
Tim and I are on the first leg of what weβre hoping will become our annual fall road trip, slowly but surely working our way down the east coast, recalling some familiar sights, taking in some new experiences, finally seeing our oldest granddaughters in their new homes, getting together with the rest of the family, and celebrating his 70th birthday every step of the way.
What can I say? Virginiaβs a long, long way from Cape Cod. But weβre in no rush and weβre enjoying the journey.
I just canβt wait to see my now adult girls doing life in their new places with their beloved people. Meanwhile, βtil we get there, weβre enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes weβre gathering along the way. Memories are coming back right and left β¦ and weβre in the planning stages for new adventures to come.

Last fall, I told you how crazy I was over these 612 Vermont Window Candles β¦ and it turned out that many of you ended up buying them for your own Christmas decor. But the good news is that these flickering beauties arenβt just for the holidays. I had mine up and running in the windows, on the mantle, and on our dining table for a few weeks before we left home.
Their amber flame is realistic and thereβs no obnoxious cords or plugs that my resident handyman was weary of corralling and setting up. The soothing warm ambience fits our calm, cozy lifestyle to a T. And the neighbors tell me they love glimpsing the flickering candlelight during the endless winter evenings, too.
Click here to window shop (no pun intended) and get 18% off even as we speak. If you already bought these, Iβd love to hear what they do for your home.
Happy autumn weekend to you, whether youβre cozied up at home β¦ or find yourself on the road! Whatβs on your agenda this weekend?

What a beautiful way to celebrate your husband's birthday, enjoy the fall colors, and see family! The candles look amazing, thank you for sharing them. This weekend we moved my son to his first apartment. He is the last one to leave home. We repainted the walls and bookshelves today in preparation for turning the boys' room into a guest room. There is lots to do with family coming for Thanksgiving. Woohoo!
How fun! Mom and I are on a road trip from TX to AZ. But the only sights we're taking in are the Loves gas stations, lol. Our fun will start when we arrive. Although, truth be told, we are enjoying the journey! Have fun and be safe!
