‘He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.’
- Psalm 23:3
Just reading this verse brings an unexpected sigh of relief, of gratitude. For this has been my repeated experience, Lord.
Sometimes I know that my soul is parched and longing. Other times, I don’t fully comprehend the emptiness within. You promise to restore, replenish, refill.
Thank You, Spirit, for Your constant presence. Please don’t wait for me to notice, to ask. Please do what you do - comfort, refresh, convict, guide, prompt, direct, teach, grow, protect.
Continue to surprise me with Your faithful manna. I hunger and thirst for more of You.
Amen.
I am an alcoholic in long term recovery.
On my fifth sober birthday...I had that engraved on my medallion.
"He restoreth my soul."
Only through God's grace and mercy am I blessed to be free from alcohol and all drugs for almost twelve years. God is good!
Holy Spirit - please don't wait for me to notice. Amen. And yes. Or how often do I notice...and then look for refreshing elsewhere? Thanks for the encourgement today, Linda.
